Sonata of the Moon

Violins in the air tonight Songs never ending for the tell-tale heart Pure in beauty as the snow of white The Ghost Opera plays its part Notes play all around me Score of the phantoms of lore This, my fate shall surely be To play in the songs that I adore

The Siren

The Siren may be said to be The Chorus-Lady of the Sea; Though Mermaids claim her as their kin, In its place of fishy tail and fin Two shapely feet rejoice the view When to these other charms we add A voice that drives the hearer mad, Who will argue her claim to be The Chorus-Lady of the Sea

The Satyrs

Hear the satyrs calling, crying, As the windy day is dying O'er the rocks; And the shepherd speeds the flocks They're eyeing!

See the satyrs leap and scramble Thro' the briar and brake and bramble; In the glow Of the red sun sunken low They gambol,

Never thinking of the morrow, Without head or heart to borrow Any care. Of all sadness, of all sorrow Unaware.

Leda and the Swan

A sudden blow: the great wings beating still Above the staggering girl, her thighs caressed By the dark webs, her nape caught in his bill, He holds her helpless breast upon his breast.

How can those terrified vague fingers push The feathered glory from her loosening thighs? And how can body, laid in that white rush, But feel the strange heart beating where it lies?

A shudder in the loins engenders there The broken wall, the burning roof and tower And Agamemnon dead.

Being so caught up, So mastered by the brute blood of the air, Did she put on his knowledge with his power Before the indifferent beak could let her drop?

Like the very gods in my sight

Like the very gods in my sight is he who sits where he can look in your eyes, who listens close to you, to hear the soft voice, its sweetness murmur in love and

laughter, all for him. But it breaks my spirit; underneath my breast all the heart is shaken. Let me only glance where you are, the voice dies, I can say nothing,

but my lips are stricken to silence, underneath my skin the tenuous flame suffuses; nothing shows in front of my eyes, my ears are muted in thunder.

And the sweat breaks running upon me, fever shakes my body, paler I turn than grass is; I can feel that I have been changed, I feel that death has come near me.

I Cry Me a New Beginning

Another year has come and gone So many lessons were there to learn And some of them I may have missed, And here another year comes anew. Though I may cry for some guiding hand To lead me out of the hindering pit, Indeed I know I must stretch my hand Out of the pit if I must get some help Exhausted and crushed I may be now Defeated and beaten down to earth But only I can pick me up To start again to make new strides And in this fleeting days of illusion I must stand for myself to live And though I may have failed before I will try some more, again and again, To learn to overcome the lower self And passions of the mind in life Of anger, lust and vanity, Of attachment and even greed, With those true virtues of the mind Of patience, and right sense to choose Of humility, and detachment too, Of contentment, the state of being Though the path be strewn with thorns And may be slippery at best at times My Inner Guidance I still will trust As I cry me a new beginning, The Light of God will shine my way The Sound of God will lead my path Through the valley and shadow ways I shall emerge again a better I.

The Gratitude of Friendship

Many moments pass in life, Some we joyfully remember Others we choose to leave behind. Grateful are we when our memories Are blessed with blissful moments Of love, peace, and affection. Loved are we when in affection Our hearts are gladly kindled, Stirred by loving friendship From those we come to meet, Whose presence spark in us That Light and Sound Divine Reminding us once again The true essence of who we are; Beings of love and affection Existing because of God’s love Here on earth to learn and share To renew and regain our identity; Sparks of God! Grateful Souls! Loving beings!
